Mecklenburg County Wildlife : Charlotte is not known for its wildlife, however; where pockets of green space have been set aside, wildlife does flourish. Just a sample of the wildlife found in the Charlotte area. Even in our urban backyard in 4th Ward, we've been visited by an unexpected Woodcock and a terribly lost White-tailed Deer.
